Alex Munn is the owner and operator of EZ Vane, a family-owned weathervane and cupola manufacturer based in Syracuse, Indiana. EZ Vane has been making weathervanes and cupolas in the USA since 1996, and Alex carries that nearly 30-year legacy forward through hands-on leadership, craftsmanship, and day-to-day involvement in the business.
Rather than running EZ Vane from behind a desk, Alex is directly involved in design, manufacturing, operations, customer work, and product development. He took responsibility for running the day-to-day operations in late 2021 and continues to help guide the company’s growth while staying close to the shop floor.
About Alex Munn
Alex Munn brings firsthand manufacturing experience to every product EZ Vane creates. He is personally involved in the full build process, including laser-cutting 14-gauge American steel, bending, welding, applying the copper-vein powder coat finish, and final assembly.
Because Alex knows the product from the shop floor up, he understands the details that matter most to customers: material strength, finish durability, mounting, weather resistance, and long-term performance. His experience gives him a practical understanding of what helps a weathervane or cupola hold up through years of real weather.
Alex also works directly with customers on custom and licensed work, including EZ Vane’s officially licensed collegiate line. His role gives him a close view of both the craftsmanship behind each piece and the personal meaning customers often attach to their designs.
Weathervane and Cupola Expertise
Alex has deep knowledge of weathervane design, function, and durability. He understands how weathervanes are built to track wind, why steel gauge and finish quality affect longevity, and how to match a design to a home, barn, garage, business, or outdoor structure.
He is also experienced in cupola selection and sizing, including choosing the right cupola for a roofline, understanding how base and top configurations affect appearance, and determining when a cupola is used decoratively versus functionally.
